Looking Ahead for Lead The Way Tour

Since first launching the Guided Walking Tour of Carrickfergus focused on its remarkable role during the Second World War, I’ve poured a lot of passion, research, and energy into creating what I believe is a truly engaging and enjoyable experience. What began as a hobby quickly became an obsession, and it’s been an incredible journey every step of the way.

As things evolve at home, I’ve been thinking about how best to continue sharing Carrickfergus’ wartime story—while also making space for new priorities and projects.

Up until now, I’ve offered regular Saturday morning tours from March to October. While some tours have been fully booked and others more intimate (fancy way of saying not many people turned up), each one takes the same careful planning and preparation behind the scenes. Going forward, I’m making a few positive changes to ensure the tours remain sustainable and high quality.

From next year, I’ll be focusing on a smaller number of scheduled public tours—likely around key anniversary dates, with around six per year. These special dates will continue to offer the same high-quality, storytelling-driven experience people have come to enjoy.

Private group tours (for 6 or more people) and presentations will still be available on request—and I’m always happy to work with groups to create something memorable.

So, Lead The Way Tour isn’t going anywhere—just evolving. Less about doing more, and more about doing it better.
